Ceramics
Experimental making processes determined the evolution of my most recent ceramic work ( 2014 - 2016). I returned to reassembling thrown and press moulded components. Thrown rib elements, and embedded coloured clay bands, bring rhythm and decoration that is integral to the object.
My aesthetic reflects an interest in coastal environments and the interaction between manmade and natural elements. My palette of colours has been informed by both Devon and India. I’m influenced by Japanese studio crafts, Gaudi, and Isamu Noguchi.
